Changing Lives through Education

The DAHEI Scholarship Program awards two scholarships annually to high school students. Over the past three years, DAHEI has granted a total of six scholarships to deserving students. In an effort to support more students, the program is expanding to offer six scholarships for the upcoming school year 2024-2025. This initiative aims to recognize and empower talented and motivated students in their academic pursuits.

Every child deserves the opportunity to obtain a quality education and the resources needed to foster success.

In 2023 we hosted our 1st annual scholarship ceremony in Dominica celebrating the new incoming scholars.

Our current scholarship recipients share the impacts the scholarship has made in the life and community.

In October 2020, Dominican Health and Education Initiative (DAHEI) awarded two scholarships to Dominican students transitioning from elementary to high school. These are 5-year scholarships that provides funding to cover books, uniforms and school supplies for the duration of their high school career. The DAHEI Team is also tutoring the students in areas where they are weak to ensure their success through High School.

In 2022, DAHEI expanded its Scholarship Program, awarding scholarships to 2 additional students

To date, DAHEI has awarded 4 educational scholarships to students entering High School in Dominica. Thank you to our donors and supporters who have made this initiative possible. Our goal is to award 2 scholarships every year, value of $10,000EC for the cost of 5 years of their high school education. This is an important investment in our youth, for these are the children who will be the future of the island.

School/Office Supplies

DAHEI Donates to Education

DAHEI has donated 50 computers and other school supplies valued at over $60,000 to the elementary schools of Dominica. Schools that benefited from the supplies included Wotten Waven Primary, Soufriere Primary, Grandbay Primary, Kaleb John Laurent Primary in St Joseph, Coulibistrie Primary  and Bright Beginning Centre Preschool in Roseau.

Literacy Programs

Research shows that early reading experiences and literacy rich environments are the most effective ways to support the development of pre-reading and cognitive skills that ensure that children are prepared for success in school, including grade-level reading, and throughout life.
